Moving from Your Home to Storage
It starts with the mover doing a complete inventory of the items going into storage. This is called the inventory listing. Then each piece of furniture is wrapped in quilted moving blankets for protection during the move and storage.
Once the truck arrives at the mover’s warehouse (after loading your shipment), the driver and warehouseman use the inventory listing to ensure everything is accounted for. Your furniture and boxes are then loaded into wooden storage pallets.
The wooden storage pallets keep out dust, and the furniture pads add an extra layer of protection. Upholstered pieces like couches are wrapped in stretch wrap first, then stored on special furniture racks in the warehouse. Large area rugs are also wrapped in stretch wrap and put on the racks.
Access to Your Storage Shipment
If you need access to your storage shipment in the future, let the moving company know which items you need access to. The items are put into one storage pallet for easy access. Contact the mover 24-48 hours in advance; they will have the storage pallet out when you arrive at the warehouse.
Delivery of Your Storage Shipment
When you are ready to receive your stored items, contact your mover to schedule a delivery. Once the mover arrives at your home, the crew will unload and check off the items on the inventory listing to ensure you receive everything.
